Foreign investment in U.K. has increased to $179 billion from $33 billion last year. This is in contrast to foreign investment (FDI) in Europe as a whole fell by 29%.
U.S. is still the top destination for foreign investment in 2016, according to figures released Wednesday by the United Nations. U.K. came second.
However, it is too early to judge if this increase in FDI is due to Brexit .
According to United Nations, there was a 13% drop in overseas investment around the world by business last year. This points to the slowdown of globalization.
